Shapour cave

Shapour cave is located in Shiraz, one of the oldest state of Iran. The cave has a statue of Shapour I, Shapour the first was the king who maid emperor Valerian beg for his life in front of Roman army and was famous for his military power.
This statue has about 1700 year and now days it is colourless; also thanks to the thieves, parts of it are stolen.

I have lots of memory from this cave, that is why i decided to draw a sketch from it and color it. When the cave was discovered they didn't find much in it, just a huge statue and lots of scripts and ... it was always a mystery because there was no particular reason for the king to build a statue there and just leave it! I always thought there is something there; also I found a hole in the cave which was said by one our professional rolling cave, that the hole should end in a huge hall, I tried to go there but unfortunately it was not possible with normal equipment.

I bet someday someone is going to find huge amount of treasure in that hole...
